International festival of folklore – “Costa Brava Folk Festival”– a traditional non-competitive festival that gives an opportunity to showcase the cultural traditions of different peoples of the world, contributes to the preservation and promotion of national traditions and cultures of different ethnic nationalities and the strengthening of inter-ethnic relations. International festival of folklore in Catalonia is directed for the propaganda of peace, friendship, fraternal relations and world nations’ solidarity by means of folk art of dance and music, rich traditions and respected national standards of self-expression and communication.
Communicating with the language of fantasy and art, representatives of different world nations meet and exchange cultural and art works which reflect their traditions. It helps them to find new ways of communication by means of collaboration and the art language. We all know that the art language kills all the barriers like cultural, social, economical and others, leaving the communication level free and easy. This festival is held by the Spanish festival committeeFiestaloniaMilenio jointly with the town hall of Lloret de Mar (Spain, Costa Brava) and starts with a big parade and friendship.

International choreographic contest Dancing Catalonia is held on the Spanish coast Costa Brava. It is a tension and rejoicing, a triumph and tears of happiness, dizziness from success and immersion in a grand atmosphere of an international competition, feelings that thousands of motivated performers experience in one of the most prestigious contests in Europe. All of them go through unforgettable moments as it’s a meeting of different creative tendencies and styles! All the participants of the contest get an independent and professional valuation of international judges who work according to an accurately considered valuation system which has been developed by us for many years and which guarantees the highest quality of judging. Each participant of the dancing competition gets a numbered personalized certificate from the providers of the contest and the group’s leaders get certificates from the Dance Council UNESCO. International choreographic contestDancing Catalonia in the kingdom of Spain is a cultural event which presents the work of choreographic teams. The main purpose of the festival is the demonstration of art to the audience and also the experience exchange among experts in the field of choreography. Providers of the contest is a festival competitive organizationFiestalonia Milenio(Spain), the town hall of Lloret de Mar, the ministry of tourism of Catalonia, GCCB, the charity fund Fundación SOS, the European folklore society, the association of jazz modern dancers, the supporting fund of classic ballet, the clothes for the presenters are granted by the official sponsors Dolce&Gabbana.
Every year Fiestalonia invites one of the leading and most renowned choreographers in the world, to become member of the board of the jury and give a master class(es) in their field.
All our programs consist of two parts:
- Participation in the competition and festival
- Participation without competing in the competition in the framework of the festival program *.
* For the dancers who don’t want to participate in the competitive program, but wish to participate in the festival are provided with joint rehearsals, workshops and master classes, where they receive advice and an official certificate from the renowned international experts during a brief discussion in an open and friendly atmosphere. Non competing dancers will also perform at international friendship concerts combining with different choreographic directions.
Communication with other participants, an open exchange of experience as well as a lot of master classes with internationally recognized experts, will certainly bring you to a whole new level of creativity!

6th CALELLA FOLK FESTIVAL 13th to 20th June 2015 and 20th to 27th June 2015
Dear Sir/Madam,
We are pleased to announce that the 6th CALELLA FOLK FESTIVAL 2015 will be held in Calella, Spain from 13th to 20th June 2015 and 20th to 27th June 2015. It is our great honor to invite your folklore ensemble to take part in the international festival as participants.
The Festival is committed to encouraging the development of folk dance, music, song, culture, stimulating international cultural exchange and establishing a viable forum for promising folk artists to demonstrate their talent, artistry and inspiration.
We will appreciate if you can let us know about the number of interested parties in your group as soon as possible so we can plan ahead and send us your application form. After receiving your application form, we will send you the official invitation for participating in the Festival. Then, you can start with visa procedure. We will assist you in obtaining visa for Spain contacting directly with Spain embassy if this is necessary.
The accommodation is organized in hotels and the rooms are with 2-4 beds and only 50-200 meters from the beach and 200 meters to center of Calella.
The festival fee is 13/06/2015 – 20/06/2015 = 220 € per person and 20/06/2015 – 27/06/2015 = 225 € per person, and it covers organizational expenses, accommodation for 7 nights with three meals per day (buffet basis). On every 25 participants 1 is free of charge.
Each group has 2 DBL rooms guaranteed by Festival, and for every next DBL room group should pay extra
2 €/person/day. For 1 SGL room groups should to pay extra 17 €/per day.
Participation fee can be paid in several installments. Each participant group should pay 50 eur per person in advance after receiving the official invitation but no later than 15 March 2014. The second installment of 175 € may be paid monthly not later than the first day of arrival in Calella.
Hotel reservation is guaranteed ONLY after 50 € prepayment per person no later than 15th April 2015.
Please send us rooming list not later than 15th May 2015 that we can arrange rooming like you wish.
Groups that don't send their rooming list, they will be made by festival and there can't be any change.
Each member must have travel insurance policy by himself, or we can make it for you 10 € per person.
The groups should pay the travel expenses by themselves to Calella. The groups may contact us for possible help about special prices for air tickets.
The festival will organize the transport for the groups coming by plane by picking them up from Barcelona or Gerona airports and back to the same airport. The cost of the bus transportation will be paid by the groups and will cost 300 € for one way.
The groups coming by bus can use their own transport all the time during the festival and the small journeys around the city.
The participant groups have to arrive to Calella on 13th of June 2015 and start their boarding with lunch and leave on 20th of June 2015 after having breakfast, or to arrive to Calella on 20th of June 2015 and start their boarding with lunch and leave on 27th of June 2015 after having breakfast
If you want more or less days please contact us in advance.
During the Festival each Group will have at least two or three performances in Calella according to the program of the Festival. The performances will be either in the evening or in the afternoon, so you can plan the day ahead and use it for visiting the attractions of Calella and shopping or enjoying the beautiful sandy beach.
The organizer reserves the right to any changes in the program, and the participants will be informed on time. The copyright of all video materials and pictures are ownership of the Organization of the Festival.
