Paraspar :
Mutual dialogue between Baul Sangeet of Parvathy Baul
and Odissi Nritya of Parwati Dutta
Ashadhi Ekadashi
23 July 2018, 7 pm
Rukmini Sabhagriha, MGM, Aurangabad
Presented by MAHATMA GANDHI MISSION
A unique evening of soulful music and dance based on Krishna Consciousness will be presented on 23 July 2018 7 pm at Rukmini Sabhagriha to mark Ashadhi Ekadashi. The program named ‘Paraspar’ meaning ‘to mutually reciprocate’ brings forth a spontaneous artistic dialogue between two artists representing two art forms – Parvathy Baul (Baul Sangeet) and Parwati Dutta (Odissi Nritya). The program organized by Mahatma Gandhi Mission is open to all art lovers.
‘Paraspar’ meaning ‘to mutually reciprocate’ is a humble offering by 2 devoted artists – Parvathy Baul and Parwati Dutta; an offering immersed with music, dance, divine words and thoughts on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi. The artistes dwell in their own spaces while engaging in a subtle dialogue within, amongst them and beyond ………..
The Bauls (meaning "divinely inspired insanity") are mystic minstrels (Muslim Sufis and Hindu Vaishnavs) from the Bengal region, who traveled and sang in search of the internal ideal. Odissi is considered one of the oldest Classical dances of India with its first reference in Bharatmuni’s Natyashastra as ‘Odra-Magadhi’, that was a dance-offering in the temples of the medieval period.
Looking forward to your presence. Please make it convenient to reach the venue by 6.50 pm.
Regards

National conference on
9th and 10th December 2016.
“Connectivity and relativity of Performing Arts to Indian Culture and Tradition”
Concept note
The creation and expressions are part of human existence, it is always discussed and debated by the creative work. The relationship with the expressions is the creative force of the performing art. The artist is connected with the traditional values that make him/her distinct. There is some sort of connectivity and relation of art and tradition which is established across the world. The seminar proposes is to find out beyond this connection. The culture and tradition of India has contributed a lot in the growth of performing art and vice-versa. The relationship needs to be scrutinized in the contemporary changing scenario. To discuss this connectivity and relations, we have planned to debate and discuss the issue by calling research papers for the seminar on.
