3rd CU RHYTHMS INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL

THE OBJECTIVE OF CU RHYTHMS INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL (CURIFF)
• The not-for-profit festival is being held with the objective of strengthening friendship between countries and promoting international understanding, respect and appreciation for cultures of peoples and their cultural traditions.
DATES OF THE FESTIVAL
• Arrival: 23rd September 2019
• Departure: 1st October 2019
LOCATION
• Chandigarh, the state capital of Punjab, 260 km away from New Delhi. Groups need to reach New Delhi airport
GENRES
• Folk dance, folk music, folk ritual, folk game or anything that’s part of the folklore and can be presented indoors
PARTICIPANTS
• Number of participants: Up to 30 persons
• Age of participants: Men and women not under 14 years of age
PERFORMANCES
• Stage, street, square. Duration of performances will depend on group, venue and ceremony. 2-3 minutes for opening and closing ceremonies, two full performances (up to 20 minutes, indoor/outdoor, glimpses of folklore during parade. A detailed program of the festival shall be sent during the course of festival preparations.

CONDITIONS OF THE FESTIVAL
• Food, accommodation (in university international students apartments) and internal transportation including airport transfers (IGI Airport, New Delhi), emergency medical assistance (first-aid) are the responsibility of the organizers. International transportation and visa, medical and travel insurance are groups’ responsibility.
• Participating group provides the Festival with necessary materials (in a printed and electronic format) for using of the information in posters, booklets and catalogues of festival. We need to know, as soon as possible, the number of participants coming to India, separated in women and men, their passport details and all notice about technical requirements for performances and any special food preferences, allergies, medical conditions etc.
• Each participating group receives the diploma and a memorable souvenir of the Festival
• No honorarium will be paid to the participants of the Festival
• During Opening ceremony of the Festival, during the Festival and before Closing ceremony of the Festival the Fair of Handicrafts and (the master classes of different kinds of applied arts) works. Each delegation can present at the Fair works of national handicrafts of their country or region.
• All events of festival are reflected in mass media; the information of participants sent to the Organizing committee of the Festival is used in promotional materials of the Festival. Festival committee reserves the publishing rights of performances of the groups.
• Group leaders take part in the presentation ceremony.
• In structure of delegation can be not only performers, but also accompanying persons.

Rhythms International Folk Art Club (RIFAC INDIA)
Rhythms International Folk Art Club (RIFAC INDIA) was established in 2007 to promote India’s culture overseas and provide opportunity to Indian youth to know and understand other cultures, preserve, develop and teach the traditions of Indian performing arts, promote an increased understanding and appreciation for Indian culture among different Indian cultures and abroad, provide in-depth, highquality arts training and leadership development opportunity to youth. The group is a member of International Dance Council (CID) UNESCO and The International Organization of Folk Art (IOV). The group has represented India in international cultural festivals in Canada, Poland, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, Algeria, Malaysia, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, China, Thailand, Singapore, Egypt, Jordan etc. For more information, please visit www.rifac.in
APPLICATION FORM FOR PARTICIPATION
For participation in the Festival it is necessary to fill it and send by e-mail: rifacindia@gmail.com ; Formal invitations will be sent to selected groups The following materials should be enclosed to the application:
- Naming list (surname, first name, birthday, sex, passport number, its validity, role in the group);
- Scanned copies of first two pages of each passport (for visa support);
- Biography of the group no more than 20 lines;
- Color photos of collective (not less than 3 MB in format JPEG);
- Photos of all participants and also accompanying persons (the size 3х4 in format JPEG);
- References on video-presentation in YouTube;
- Description of program of performance.
IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
- Application deadline: 31st December 2018
- Invitations will be sent in January 2019
-Visa copies and flight details are to be sent not later than 31st July 2019 failing which the participation shall stand cancelled
