Conference and Festival dates and location: Georgia, Batumi, March 15-18, 2019
Goal of the Conference:
Goal of the Scientific Conference is to support deepening and development of cultural ties between peoples, extension of interdisciplinary research of culture heritage and dealing with the challenges of preservation of choreographic heritage.
Experienced scientists-researchers, young specialists, practicing choreographers, experts, and students, specialists in humanitarian and social and political fields will attend and participate in the Conference.
Speech Thematic:
Historic part of choreographic folklore, present situation and future perspectives of its usage in practical stage-concert activities.
Working Languages:
Georgia, English, Russian
Conference Regulation:
Speech – 15 minutes;
Discussion – 10 minutes.
Format of Participation in the Conference:
Speech;
Attended and unattended participation;
Participants of the Conference must send the application and thesis before February 28, 2019
Goal of the Festival:
• Development of folklore arts; popularization of the world folklore culture; sharing of experience between participants; empowerment of mutual respect and tolerance; deepening of creative contacts; popularization of Georgian and world folklore arts; improvement of the level of qualification of choreographers;
Festival Participants:
Folklore groups from different countries of the world and different regions of Georgia (ages not limited) take part in the Festival.
Participation Conditions:
Participants present two shows (3-5 minutes each) in the following nominations: folklore dances, folklore songs (ensembles and individual); songs and romances; folklore handcraft arts (exhibitions). In the final conclusive concert participating artists will present only one show. Music can be live or phonogram. With the application Festival participants submit their program (audio, video files of their previous shows, materials necessary to be published in the newspaper and Festival booklet). Festival participants will be awarded with the Festival Laureate Diplomas and different presents.
Conference and Festival funding: According to self-funding principle each foreign participating groups pay the following fee per participant of their group:
• EURO 200 – 4 days – 2-start hotel accommodation (2, 3 bed rooms), meals 3 times a day; all in-country transportation, including airport transfer both ways;
• EURO 300 – 4 days – 3-star hotel accommodation (2, 3 bed rooms), meals 3 times a day; all in-country transportation, including airport transfer both ways;
• EURO 650 – 4 days –5-star hotel accommodation (2 bed rooms), meals 3 times a day; all in-country transportation, including airport transfer both ways;
Important: Every 16th participant of a Festival participant group is free from the Festival fee;
Deadline for submitting applications: 15/02/2019 – at the moment of submitting an application a participating group transfers 50% advance payment of the whole fee to be paid. Remaining 50% is to be transferred not later than a week ahead of the start of Festival.

MORE THAN 6000 PARTICIPANTS TOOK PART IN THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL ART-FOLK FEST SUMMER 2018
International Festival Art-Folk Fest Summer 2018 has been organized by the Culture and Arts Development Union Art-Folk on the Black Sea coast Georgian cities Batumi and Kobuleti during June 18-29, 2018. Along with Georgian folk ensembles in the Festival participated ensembles from abroad: 5 groups; 250 participants; Qatar (1 ensemble), Latvia (1 ensemble), Russia (1 ensemble), Armenia (2 ensembles).
Caucasus 2018 Festival was supported by the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF), International Dance Council of UNESCO (CID), Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara Autonomous Republic, Poti Municipality, Georgian Institute of Qualification and Professional Development of Teachers, Editorial Office of the Georgian Choreography Newspaper published by the Georgian Union of Choreographers and the International Folklore Center.
Festival opening and parade was hosted by the City of Poti; and Festival events have been conducted in the cities of Batumi and Kobuleti. Number of performers in the Festival was over 6,000 persons.
In framework of the Caucasus 2018 Festival has been organized master classes, scientific conferences and excursions; special issue of the Georgian Choreography Newspaper has been published. Festival concerts were organized at the highest level.
„We are confident that the given traditional Festival will further promote popularization of folklore cultures of Georgia and of many countries around the world, increase of the level of qualification of choreographers, sharing of experience between participants and empowerment of creative contacts between foreign and Georgian participants.“, said the organizers of this large scale event.
The conclusive Gala Concert was held at the Batumi Summer Theatre and was completed with impressive fireworks.
All the participants of the Caucasus 2018 Festival were awarded with special Diplomas and Prizes.
