The Fairy Doll With a new choreography by Cécile Däniker
This pantomime divertissement of one act and two scenes was created in 1888 at the Opera in Vienna to the sparkling lively music of Josef Bayer (1852-1913).
Danse en Ile de France presents a new version of this ballet choreographed by Cécile Däniker.
The story takes place in a toy shop where the toys come alive at night when the owner leaves and closes the store. This ballet was given in over a hundred theaters in Europe at the end of the 19th century. Since, it has seen several different versions, that of Nicolai et Sergei Legat in St Petersburg (1903) and the company of Anna Pavlova (1914) . It is still presented in Vienna as well as by the Vaganova Academy in St Petersburg.
